Graduate Students
Graduate Program Goals:
The Graduate degree in geography is designed to provide students with a broad range of academic and professional options. Our program prepares students for:
- Professional opportunities in applied geography and planning
- Ph.D. work in geography and planning
- Opportunities teaching geography at all educational levels including college.
The Department offers the following graduate programs:
- Master of Arts degree in Geography , Thesis option (237A)
- Master of Arts degree in Geography, Non-Thesis option(237*) with concentrations in:
- General Geography Concentration (237B)
- Planning Concentration (237C)
- Geographic Information Science (proposed*)
- Graduate Minor in Geography (241)
Prerequisite: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
Other Criteria for Applicants:
- GRE scores
- Cover letter (not to exceed two pages) stating reasons why applicant wishes to enter the program
- Three letters of recommendations
Students will choose from the following options:
